We decided to take advantage of the wonderful sailing that is,for many of us, right in our own back yard: St Joseph’s Sound in the Clearwater-Dunedin-Palm Harbor area. We strove to keep sails short- around 3 or 4 miles at a time with breaks for shade, cool drinks and air conditioning in between. In addition to nice meals and camaraderie, we experienced a wide variety of conditions each day from near calm to brisk winds to pop up showers that were bound to show up in the afternoon. In all, six vessels participated and 11 WCTSS members. Lonnie Black gets the superman award for replacing his broken trailer axle- after it broke down going home Tuesday- at night- in the rain!
