November 15-17 the WCTSS once again visited one of our favorite cruising grounds- Cedar Key. The weather this year was unusually cold and damp which, while it did suppress the sailing desires of many, did not deter a handful of intrepid sailors from venturing out for a few hours Friday and Saturday. One bright spot for our gray washed weekend was a corresponding increase in shore side camaraderie. In addition to the Friday night dinner at Tony’s, which was well attended, many other impromptu lunch and dinner outings organically sprung up, as well as some late-night revelry in several of the condos and rented houses throughout Cedar Key. There were several newer faces in the group including Ed Hiestand and his lovely family. It was good to get a chance to meet them and welcome them into the group. We hope to see more families sailing with the squadron in the near future. All in all everyone managed to have a good time and, as usual, look forward to the next time we can all meet, eat and sail in Cedar Key.
